On the morning I stopped by this church, the pastor was out mowing the grass around the entrance. He stopped what he was doing and invited me in to see the interior and share a little bit of history. Estill Methodist Church, in Estill, South Carolina was founded at the start of the 20th century and the building standing today was constructed in 1908. The original pastor of this Carpenter Gothic design served multiple churches in the area and so services weren’t held at this location every Sunday. Today that pattern remains the same.
