Pisgah Methodist Church, Darlington County, South Carolina

On the edge of a cotton field, Pisgah Methodist Church featured here was organized in 1806.  Early on it was referred to as “Russell’s Meeting House”  in honor of Dempsey Russell who donated an acre to the congregation.  A frame church was built in 1879 and later, the red-roofed Carpenter Gothic style building was built in 1914. It’s located just outside of Florence, South Carolina.
